Alpha Omicron Pi

Founded on January 2, 1897, Alpha Omicron Pi began as a dream by four young college women to continue their friendship throughout life. Determined to make a democratic, unostentatious society, the four women, Stella George Stern Perry, Helen St. Clair, Elizabeth Heywood Wyman, and Jessie Wallace climbed a little winding stair into the stackroom of the old Columbia Library at Barnard College of New York. Here is where Alpha Omicron Pi began, and it is now an International Women's Fraternity.
As sisters of Alpha Omicron Pi, we strive to uphold the values instilled by our founders. Our sisterhood makes us a part of something greater. We are women who accept each other for who we are and encourage the development of our individual talents. We take pride in the unique bond formed between our sisters, symbolized by a sheaf of wheat. We believe in the strength of good friendships, loyalty to our sisters, and the eternal bond we form together.
